Finding Your Personal Style
What’s your style? What does your look tell others about you? Is it saying what you want to say?
It’s important to send the right message through your style, and to be fairly consistent with that style message. I help my clients determine their personal fashion style. It could be Classic and Conservative, Chic and Sophisticated, Romantic and Whimsical, Bohemian and Ethnic, or Dramatic and Edgy. Each of my clients take a short quiz to help determine the style they are most comfortable with and they learn how to use that style to project their best and truest selves to everyone they encounter every day.
For more personal style possibilities, such as Euro Chic, California Casual, Rock & Roll, and Gamine, order the book, The Lucky Guide to Mastering Any Style right here.
There is a new silhouette that is giving wide-leg jeans and pointy-toe shoes some competition. The newer look means longer tops, skinny pants or tights, and rounder-toed boots or flats. I have partnered with Macy’s and challenged myself to find an outfit that fits this silhouette for under $100.
The foundation of any outfit is the pants, or in this case, jeans. Skinny jeans are an important part of the new silhouette, and work for any age, while tights or leggings work better for younger women. If you’re not sure of the best look for you, just ask me! These Calvin Klein Jeans are skinny, black, and have rhinestones on the back pockets.
Speaking of jeans, Macys.com has a
women's denim fit guide, to help you find the right
jeans for you, and their products feature customer
ratings and comments, which is a great help in shopping.
To go with the jeans, I like this Alfani Shawl Collar Flyaway Cardigan. It has short sleeves and a longer silhouette that can be worn over a long-sleeved solid t-shirt in a neutral or contrasting color.
Add some bold, sparkly jewelry, a scarf in a subtle print or solid, and some ballet flats or boots, and you’ll have an up-to-date, flattering outfit that works for a variety of occasions.
New Consignment Shop
Another way to save money on
clothing is to consign your old pieces and buy some new
ones at the same consignment shop.
